Phd Library and Information Science (Full Time)

  • Admission Requirement
    1. Course Work
    2. To be eligible for the award of the PhD. degree, a students must pass all the designated courses

    3. Research
    4. The award of the degree will be dependent on a successful completion of the dissertation and the passing of oral defense.

    5. Seminar/Examination
    6. Successfully Complete a dissertation project and pass the oral defense.

      Students are expected to present seminar each semester in their areas of specialization and research.

    7. Departmental Courses
    8. These are set of courses, which at the doctoral level, form the core of the area of specialization.

  • Course Structure
  • The structure of the Ph.D. degree programme for each of the programmes is as follows:

    • Faculty core courses 09 credit units
    • Departmental core courses 12 credit units
    • Specialization courses 12 credit units
    • Elective courses 6 credit units
    • Dissertation project 12 credit units
    • Minimum Total 54 credit units
