Postgraduate Programmes Coordinator
The Postgraduate Co-Ordinator join other members of the Department to provide a high level of support for
postgraduate students. The PG Co-Ordinator assist the Head of Department and other teaching staff providing
secretarial support for postgraduate programmes, specifically:
To provide a high level of support for the postgraduate admissions process, including; acting as the first
point of contact for initial enquiries, providing advice and support to applicants throughout the admissions
process, ensuring the quick and accurate processing of applications, maintaining admissions database and
paper records, arranging interviews for applicants, and other support for applicants, liaising with the
The Postgraduate School regarding admissions statistics, recording and processing programme deposits , making
preparations for induction, assisting the Programme Director and Departmental Officer with marketing and
promotional activities, representing the Department at School and University admissions events, and liaising with
the Postgraduate Admissions Office, etc.
2. Programme Delivery
To provide support to the Head of Department and the Teaching Staff for all aspects of programme
delivery including the production of timetables, preparation of the programme handbooks, preparation of module
materials, organising module and programme evaluation, making exam arrangements, progress chasing on
continuous assessment, and producing results and transcripts.
3. Information Management
To maintain the database of postgraduate student information including personal details and the academic record.
Maintain the students' manual file including application material, references and results, record feedback
and evaluation data, produce statistical information on past and present students as required.
To receive and record student assignments and to collate and distribute to markers. To receive and record marks
and maintain an accurate record. To ensure marked work is returned to students. To assist the Departmental
Officer with arrangements for, and preparation of, information and scripts to be sent to the External Examiners.
To ensure that all assessed work is stored in a secure place for the correct time period.
To provide past and present assessment information, results and transcripts for staff and students as required.
5. Student Support
To provide, in consultation with the Head of Department and the Departmental Officer, guidance and information
on the programme and the University. To have primary responsibility for ensuring that the student facilities are
kept in full working order and to manage student notice boards. To undertake mailings to students and alumni as
